HI!
Miss us? I think this is the longest non post time since we started the doodle journal. I did read emails on my cell phone but I can’t text well at all. I have hooked up the computer for paperwork and updates but will then be packing it up as WE ARE MOVING. ๐
Jeff and I have been busy working on fence, garden, front and back yard projects as we prepare the house for sell. Yes. As many of my puppy owners know, we had planned on buying some property not to far from 7 years ago. Due to family illness we put that on hold. Near the end of the journey we walked with my brother we put the planned litters on hold and then played “catch up” for those waiting after he passed. The last couple of months we have been working on the house which included an unplugged computer while I painted the office and worked on packing most of it up and going through lots of paperwork, photos, and things I have not been able to work on with brother needing so much time. Finally I think we are caught up except for the garage ๐ …the last frontier and holding spot for so many things! ๐
And, wouldn’t you just know it? Jeff “happened” upon the most perfect place for all of us while taking a piece of equipment to a farmer in the area. ย The farmer shared information about water and the land. After inquiring he took me on a road trip and surprised me with his find up in the mountains close by. “And the rest was history” as the saying goes. He found what we have been wanting for so many years, and it was just what we wanted. And thanks to Lorna we found out we could make the dream a reality.
So, we are now showing our home while we are packing and doing paperwork to hopefully close next month on some land with a stunning view of the valley, the mountains, and acres for doodles to romp. ย It has a tiny two bedroom one bath home on it that we will live in while we plan the remodel and sell our “town home”. Our daughter’s wedding plans are under way and our son has almost 3 months down of his current 12 month deployment.
I have visions of having our doodle owners up for a gathering of the greens during the holiday season and doodle play dates.I have been doodling on paper some ideas of the future doodle commune and other course there is two doodle rooms in the plan. Both Jeff and I agree we have to live in the space a bit before diving in. I think it is going to be a very cozy winter with three doodles and Elsa, our cat getting a feel for the space. ๐
We plan on moving the end of September as it will make our other home easier to show although our real estate agent did have an inquiry on a doodle.
We have been up to watch the sunset, walk the land, and even let the doodles take the doodle farm for a spin. The girls were in Heaven but Chief wanted to go check out the two huge labs two farms over. Fence will be our first priority when we move, with a remodel hopefully the next spring. ย The other night we went up to watch our first stars at our doodle acres and there was a new development. A sale pending on the listing sign. Was a wonderful site.
This is the reason I have not been updating the blog. But it is not that we have not been busy with them, just not busy updating the pages. Izzy had her final testing and she is ready to go with her final eye test, thryoid test and CBC/blood check and hip check. We had her stay with us while her guardian home was on a camp out. I also have photo updates of many of our puppies that I will be posting so the puppy families can see how their doodle’s brother or sister is doing.
I imagine one of the things I will be checking on soon will be internet connection speeds on the our hill. ๐
