We are back! Well, we never left and have been busy but I took some time off doodle blogging.
We took some time with holidays, visiting and catching up with friends and puppy sat for some of our doodle puppies while their family went away from the Holidays. Jeff has been busy with getting the new puppy play house ready as we come into middle of January with our first two litters. Yes, I said two litters. Normally we do one litter but this is the year where we have two new girls coming on to replace two others who will retire after their third and final litters.
Milly came to us at the end of her cycle to stay a bit and Chief went a calling. The doodled once and I was not sure it took but she is here with us now and yes, that Chief still has it. 🙂 So, I am delighted to announce we have puppies coming with a surprise litter. She was all tested out I had just planned a June courtship.
Daphne we have been waiting for such a long time. She has silent heats and not always the same times so we are thrilled she will finally have her first litter. I have one person that has been on the wait list forever for her. I did not want to overbook as typically the first litter is not that many. We found out she is expecting 5 puppies soon. She is at my feet as I type, on her side and I can see the puppies moving in her womb. Soon there will be no more surfing of puppies as the space is getting smaller and one of the puppies will decide it is time to start the process. We have the whelp box ready for nesting and a sofa by it for me to sleep for night watch.
Jeff will have Milly duty as the time draws closer for her. Tonight we will shave both their tummies to get ready for nursing babies to suckle and do some trimming for the whelp and nail trimming and filing for the big event.
I am hoping to update the website and get some behind the scene server upgrades done during the whelp watch. Our online adoption form went a bit strange after getting my updates so I have to figure that out as well.
The holidays we had many happy cards with doodles in the family photos, love to watch them grow! And thank you all who sent cards and emails. I hope to put them up on our blog as I do some paperwork catch up. The day is getting away from me and I hope to also look at the new territorial seed catalog and dream of gardening and spring and sun and puppies running in the yard. 🙂
Happy New Year!
