Kona; there you are!
Kona is sister of Cinnie.
She has a wonderful family and boy and is loved like crazy. Here is a picture of her so exhausted from her vacation at the beach.
Jeff named the litter after coffee drinks. Really? Coffee drinks? I had the Liberty theme going.. “Liberty’s Fearless, Liberty’s Freedom, Liberty’s Justice, Liberty’s Flame, Liberty’s Blaze, Liberty’s Pride.. ” for whelp names. Why, I had a list and everything. 🙂
Sigh; but you see Belle and Jeff are very close and Belle laid claim to Jeff and his heart from birth. Drats, I did tell Jeff he could name the litter. I should have had added the exception “within the Liberty Theme”. Life long learner, that’s me!
She appeared a dark velvet black at birth.
Black? Wait… all the planning of the litter; the lineage, the confirmation, and the dna predictive program we use did not have black in the cards (yes, we do and I know enough now I might start planning my grandkids if my children just let me take a little swab of people they are dating)…
Back on track.
Strange I thought. Where did black come from? I should have some DNA brown in there, 25% possible, not black. I went back to the research and rechecked my data I entered.
As she grew with us; I realized. Her skin slowly developed a blue shade to it, turning more purple; ahhhh… Lavender. They start out a very, very, very black which is actually a dark dark brown and with age will show brown and then silver blue. “pause now while you look at the picture again”…
See, She is showing her brown now; cute, hum? Not just the color, her. 🙂 But, still fun to watch. I can’t wait to she her go “blue” with age. But good things come to those who wait. Another thought, is there Liberty in Coffee? Perhaps with Coffee comes Liberty? Perhaps one should not post after midnight?
Back on track.
Of course it is not about color, that is not first on the list. She is healthy, smart, attentive and reads people like my dogs do. Good baby. A perfect example of how the labradoodles end up owning the men’s hearts like no other. Even men use to “big hunting dogs” come over to the doodle light after having one. They are stunning and hard to describe unless you have one. Then, you will want one more.
Here is a recent picture of Kona that came with a wonderful email about her very full weekend at the beach and their delight with her. Thank you!
Back on track…
So, with mother’s day coming… I think when everyone comes over.. All I need is a little swab…just an itty bitty one. Hum, perhaps a small itty bitty blood draw as well…just have to figure it out.
Afterall, I don’t think that is too much to ask if they are going to join the family? And, honey, what a good story about a mother in law drawing blood before hand. 🙂
Happy Mother’s day!
