Cinnamon’s 5 Week old puppies

My laptop had the blue screen of death and I have to take her to the laptop hospital. Hopefully she can be saved! I did make backups of some things, but it always throws a crimp into life when I realize how much I had to load, upload, store, etc. and “poof” my whole routine stops “blue”. 🙂

I just was able to install some software on another computer and am working on the web publisher software now so I can update the webpages.  I share this so you will know why the pictures are 2 days late in coming and the LibertyLabradoodles.com puppy pages and home page is out of date. I am working on the uploading photos to the online photo gallery (flicker) now. I am also working on emails, eh ghads; I have tons!

The 5 week old puppies are doing great! As you might know, they are with Cinnamon’s foster family, so they are raised in a home and Cinnamon will always have a home. In fact, she is one of our dogs that sleeps in bed with her family. Jeff prefers crates, I love a dog snuggled in next to me. So, I also love when she comes to visit so I get to tell Jeff “well, she has to sleep with us honey, so she can be comfortable”. 🙂

I love their “blocky” confirmation and boning along with some nice coats, they will be very handsome doodles as they grow. Both Clyde and Ginger are going to have a wonderful fleece, Roman a wavy fleece and I think he might have phantom colors going on. They are all cute of course, but at the end of this week we start really seeing “who is in there” behind those eyes; the spirit of the puppy, their personality starts coming out. Fun to watch all unfold.

Cinnie has started the weaning process, and food in the form of a rice/milk formula has been introduced.

This week they get puppy meat! Teeth are coming in and exploring of their puppy plan pen, while still nesting gives them more room to allow their personality come forth as they move from “whelp” to socialization and independent puppies!

They need their eye guard hairs clipped, so look teary in the pictures but Jeff and I did not have the handheld clippers while visiting Cinnie’s family. They have their girl and family to make sure they get house time and play time. At the end of this week they will get their first puppy shots and we will schedule their puppy apptitude testing for day 49.

My 5 week impressions are that Rosie is very cuddly, Roman and Clyde are also very gentle.

It will be interesting this week to see the pack order develop with this litter. Clyde is more the investigator of the bunch, Roman and Ginger hang out together more right now. They are all very watchful, a good sign for development. They are also beginning to use the UGoDog, a gridded “potty” training system. It is the “orange” thing you see in some of the pictures.

The are all very attentive and watchful and the play comes out this week as toys are introduced along with the other stimulation going on to help them along the development cycle.
