There’s a new milk bar in town

  • Tonight the weekly pictures! But this picture was great, so I thought I would share. Tonight, toenails get clipped in addition to some pratice brushing for getting comfortable with the grooming experience.

Recently the puppies moved from the whelp box to the puppy play pen to allow their legs the room to run. They explore and lap water and last night discovered the play pen has this thing called a bowl with something other than water! Lots of fun to walk through after tentative noses sniff. Tags were wagging a mile a minute!

It is their first mix of canine baby milk and some baby food rice. There is the lap with the tongue and then a smack of their mouth processing a new texture. Fun to watch expressions and how they face the new challenge before them.

Wow! No more pumping on mom when there is another milk bar in town. Well yes, they like mom better and go to her for a milk chaser. After all, it is mom! Gracie finishes off the bowl after their first lap around the bowl which is good for her as well as the puppies grow and need more from her.

Teeth are coming as the little bumps in the gums get ready to errupt. The baby labradoodles are moving and a new week will unfold. Exploration, some obstacles and toys! Two toys have been introduced to start the stimulation and help teething.

Here is a cell phone picture of the first transition in terms of their eatting. And so, it begins. The very firsts have been laid. We have a few more left, the first to master the run (instead of their back legs going faster then their front), the first up and down stairs, the first to play tug of war, the first to pick up a ball, the first to eat solid food.

Goodbye whelp box, hello playpen. One step closer to full fledged puppy status.
